Porter South Campus (in Peru)

Today they're scurrying around Denver like squirrels stashing seeds for winter.
  • "They" are the members of Porter Adventist Hospital's 2008 Peru Mission Team.
  • They are stashing vitamins, toothbrushes, crayons, washcloths and exam gloves for the residents of villages along the Amazon River and its tributaries near Iquitos.
  • They are stashing eye surgery supplies for the surgery team which will operate at the Clinica Ana Stahl, a pioneer Adventist medical missionary.
  • They are stashing tropical traveling apparel and plenty of DEET for the near-equatorial climate of the upper Amazon basin, which, despite being nearly all the way across he continent from the Amazon's mouth, is just 300 feet above sea level.
And just like they do every day at Porter, they prepare to make a difference in the lives of people in medical need, combining "The Best of Science and Spirit"

Stay tuned for daily reports...
